Survey: (limit up to age 25) Should we determine the importance of an animal based on their intelligence?

For instance, think about the intelligence we perceive in animals. Apparently, monkeys and dolphins demonstrate to have a very sophisticated capacity of memory and intelligence in experiments. We show much more consideration for an animal such as a monkey, than to animals we eat such as chickens. Do you think we should value an animal who shows greater intelligence as more important than to an animal who doesn't?

There is no right or wrong answer, I only want opinions.

I guess I have to say yes, because if I don't then humans would fall on the same level as all other animals. If we can take humans out of the "animal" category and just look at what we normally consider animals, then I would say we should determine their importance by their population; are they endangered or not?

- No, all animals are imprtant in their own way. Well I determine the importance of an animal basic on how they can help me. Horses are good for transportation, Donkeys, Mules, Elephants and some Bull-like animals can be used for transportation also, but are much slower. Animals like Cows, Pigs and Chickens we eat and that's why they're important. All the animals I've stated are pretty dumb, except for the Horses and Elephants.

- Important animals are ones that eat meat like us humans. As for killing animals for sport, I would never kill anything unless I'm going to eat it. The only type of meat that I eat is from the type of animal that does NOT eat meat itself, like cows and chickens, animals like monkeys excluded. It states that in the Bible, basically for us NOT to eat animals that eat meat themselves, like lions, bears, cats, dogs, eagles and their similar relatives.

- We also don't eat smart animals like monkeys, gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees and even Parrots.

- Some birds are amazingly smart, like crows. There was a crow in a cage that was suppose to get some meat out of a tiny bucket with a handle which was put in a cylinder 1inch taller. The bucket was 1in.X1in. and the cylinder was 1inX2in. The crow tried to pull the bucket out with its beak, but it couldn't so the Crow took a little wire that was purposly put in the cage, picked it up, bent it with its beak until it was the shape of a "J", then simply pulled the bucket out and ate the meat. HOW'S THAT FOR A BIRD BRAIN!!
