....ie, 'Survey...List order of preference; A, B or C'
It's not technically a question (unless of course you intentionally make it into one....which a lot don't) so is therefore in breach of their guidelines.
Same goes for posting jokes in the J%26amp;R section. If you post a joke it's not a question. In fact how can you post a proper 'answer' to a joke?
I don't particularly give a monkey's, just nice that Y!A give us VNs for 'chatting' or 'Not a proper answer' yet positively encourage us to do exactly that in some sections.
If you post a 'poll' or a 'survey' it's technically in breach of Y!A guidelines, is it not
They make it up to suit, because I get accused of chatting for every bloody thing.
Apparently it is against the rules to post a poem in the "poetry" section. This is what they informed me, when I asked them how does one post a poem in a question format, without being accused of chatting.
Reply:pick a, b, c .that is a question
Reply:I think you have a good point but will it stand up in court when we as users receive a violation notice and try to protest against it ?
Reply:Yeah, I guess a lot in P%26amp;S could be considered "chatty". With the J%26amp;R I think the rule is you tell the joke but don't give away the punchline until after people answer and you go to pick the BA.
Reply:You are so very right!! I did one on P%26amp;S once -- it was a POLL - and it wasn't even a stupid one....but SOMEONE turned me in for "chatting" -- and Yahoo QA wouldn't listen to me.......
Reply:Hmmm. Never realized how contradictory that is.
Reply:I agree...two of my questions, which were legitimate questions, were removed Im guessing bc it sounded like a survery or something? Effin a.....yeah
Reply:Yeah thats why you morph the heading into a question.
Reply:you know, its not really a big deal.
